Today I Learned why the CT river doesn’t have a major port city at its mouth. I usually thought of the lack of shipping as a result of the shift to land based transport. But the river depth apparently is the key factor. It is funny how small Old Saybrook is given it’s location. I didn’t know Yale started there.
